MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), recently cleared the air about a rather funny rumor that he used to drink five liters of milk every day. During an interview on a sponsor-led talk show featuring the franchise, he was asked about this wild claim and couldn’t help but laugh it off. Dhoni explained that, in reality, the most he has ever consumed in a day is about a liter of milk, and that’s spread throughout the day, not chugged down in one go.
CSK’s social media team shared a short clip of this exchange on their channels, which quickly caught people’s attention. In a lighthearted moment during the show, someone jokingly asked if Dhoni makes his Lassi in a washing machine. He chuckled and replied that he isn’t a big fan of that drink, adding to the fun vibe of the chat.
On the field, things have been a bit tough for Dhoni lately. He took over the captaincy for CSK just three matches ago after regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad had to step away from the season due to an injury. So far under Dhoni’s leadership, the team has managed to secure one win but has lost two, which puts them at the bottom of the standings.
Their latest match was quite a setback, as they suffered a nine-wicket loss to their rivals, the Mumbai Indians, at the Wankhede Stadium. After that game, Dhoni hinted that the team might be losing hope for this season and suggested that they are starting to think about the next one. He mentioned that they want to give younger players a chance to play and prepare for the future.
Following the match, he shared his thoughts on the team’s outlook: “With all the games ahead of us that we need to win, we’re just going to take it one game at a time. If things don’t go well, it’s all about finding the right mix for next year. We don’t want to keep changing too many players. Qualifying for this season is the goal, but if that’s not possible, we need to figure out a solid lineup for next year and come back stronger.”

CSK’s coach, Stephen Fleming, echoed Dhoni’s sentiqments during the post-match press conference. He voiced the struggle of staying motivated when the team isn’t performing at its best, yet higqhlighted the importance of making the most out of the remaining games. “It’s tough, no doubt about it. It’s hard to feel excited about the competition when you’re not playing well, but that’s the challenge we have to embrace,” Fleming said. “We’ve seen in past tournaments how the work we’ve put in, even when things have been rough, has helped us to succeed in later years.”
So, while CSK may be facing challenges this season, both Dhoni and Fleming are looking towards the future, focusing on building a strong team dynamic for the next season.
