India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel, explained that Kuldeep Yadav’s absence from the starting eleven in the four Tests is about team balance. For Kuldeep to join the team, India needs a batting lineup that’s deep and strong enough to handle England’s attack.
India is struggling in the fourth Manchester Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. No Indian bowler, not even Jasprit Bumrah, could stand out as England dominated.
Morkel told the media, We’re figuring out when Kuldeep can come in, how to balance the team, and how to make our batting lineup longer and stronger. We’ve had problems with losing quick wickets in the past. Kuldeep is a top player and is currently bowling well, so we’re working hard to get him into the team.
Morkel also mentioned that handling the workload of fast bowlers during a five-match Test series, especially after the Indian Premier League season, is tough, pointing to injuries within the current group of pacers in England.

There were only three weeks between the IPL final on June 3 and the first Test in England on June 20. Making it through the entire series was always going to be hard on the pacers. Bumrah, Anshul Kamboj, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur didn’t play in the final.
Morkel stated,It’s a true test. We often play three-Test series, and this is our first five-Test series in a while. It’s not an excuse, but getting our players in shape and ready for a Test series right after the IPL can be a problem.
