In place of injured mystery spinner Vignesh Puthur for the remainder of IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians have signed leg spinner Raghu Sharma. Puthur is struggling with a bone stress response trying to take hold of his bilateral shins, a tough break for him. Raghu replaces him at base price of Rs 30 lakh and from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) list – his maiden time with an IPL side.
One guy named Raghu from Jalandhar, Punjab with vast domestic expertise at 32 understands the game by now. Playing for Punjab and Puducherry in many games should mean a thing or two. On the List A circuit, he was spectacled enough to crash in 14 scalps from just 9 games with a best of 4 for 37 runs. Sort of like an anecdotal figure with T20 matches, he has played three games and captured three wickets.
Now quite kind of a big morale boost for Mumbai Indians, in their hour of need, they shall do with all the help. With Vignesh ruled out, Raghu shall have a situation to make a contribution at an important stage of the tournament. Hence, it has to be exciting for him; current affairs see a great chance for him to display in the T20 league what he can do at a big stage.
