The terrorist organization taking responsibility for this dreadful act is The Resistance Front, associated with the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Not now, not ever.” He reminded how, when the BCCI and the Indian government decided not to send the national team to Pakistan, some people cried aloud that sport should rise above politics. Goswami gave expression to his deeper exasperation by sharing his heart full of emotions through words: “From where I stand, killing innocent people seems to be their favorite sport. If this is the way they have chosen to play, then it is time we responded in a way they could understand: not with cricket bats but with determination not to tolerate this anymore.”

Goswami’s feelings run high. He felt heartbroken recalling his recent trip to Kashmir for the Legends League. He remembered walking through Pahalgam, speaking to the locals, and seeing hope gradually return to their lives. “It felt as if peace had finally joined us,” he said. But now he is broken since the attack has happened and asks how long people will be quiet when faced with such happenings again. “No more. We can’t keep accepting these things,” he said.
India and Pakistan have played no bilateral matches since the 2012-13 season, with the teams now meeting only at ICC events. In fact, to avoid the Champions Trophy on Pakistani soil, the BCCI recently decided to play their matches in Dubai instead of competing in the tournament.
In another post, Goswami urged Indian players participating in the IPL 2025 to wear black armbands for the week in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam attack. He said, “I request all Indian players in the IPL to wear a black armband this week at the very least, in memory of those lost in Kashmir. Play the game, but let the world know we care. Cricket binds millions of people across borders – this small effort can show solidarity and raise ghastly awareness.”
