The Indian armed forces have been hitting targets in Pakistan and PoK in retaliation, Operation Sindoor-style; this has sparked conversations about the increasing tensions and whether they will affect the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is winding down now. They conducted strikes on nine terrorist launch pads, respectively, after 26 civilians were killed last month in the Pahalgam strike.
It is said that the IPL will continue as per its original schedule and that the current situation shall not interfere with the T20 games being played by Indian and international players alike. Several airports, such as Jammu, Srinagar, and Dharamsala, have, however, been shut down till May 10 in response to the Pahalgam attack.
While the matches are still expected to take place, the teams’ travel schedule to Dharamsala may now find it affected, as the Dharamsala airport has been shut down. Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are already in Dharamsala for their match scheduled on May 8, while Mumbai Indians are to face PBKS at the same venue on May 11 and may hence have their travel arrangements altered.

Till now, no official instruction based on any recommendation has been issued by the government. The BCCI is currently talking to the franchises regarding travel options from Dharamsala to Delhi, should the airport remain shut. Everything is changing by the second. A BCCI source said that they were in talks with the teams about what the teams could do to get to Delhi if they had to, regarding the Delhi Capitals; one of the options discussed was a bus journey, but there would be issues with logistics for the teams and the broadcast team as well. The case is still unfolding.
