Patidar himself had a stellar game, scoring 64 runs off just 32 balls, which included five boundaries and four sixes. He also earned the player-of-the-match award for his efforts.
Even though he received the award, Patidar was quick to give credit to the bowling team. Honestly, this award goes to the bowlers, he said. It’s a challenge to stop a batting unit on this ground, so they deserve the credit. The fast bowlers executed their plans really well.
On the other side, MI found themselves facing their third loss in this tournament. Mumbai’s captain Hardik Pandya, commented on the struggle his bowlers faced on that pitch. Given how the wicket was behaving, the bowlers didn’t really have much room to conceal their plans, he explained. It boiled down to execution. While you can manage to handle the batsmen, I don’t want to be too hard on the bowlers. The pitch can be challenging, and we didn’t have many options available.
