Sudharsan is one of three newcomers in the squad and has an impressive first-class record. He talked about how much he admired Kohli’s attitude towards the game. I congratulated him after the finals; that was a special moment for him. Over the years, I have had so many good exchanges with him. What stands out to me is his focus and passion towards the game of cricket. We discussed how he got through some tough phases when runs were just not coming. Those moments teach you so much as a cricketer.
At 23, Sudharsan currently flies high on the wings of a tremendous IPL season where he scored 759 runs for the Gujarat Titans and won the Orange Cap despite losing to Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator.
