Rahul Dravid, the former Indian coach and current mentor of the Rajasthan Royals, spoke about Sanju Samson’s unavailability for their match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. A small abdominal issue was the reason why their medical team recommended that he not play. He also missed the last match against the Lucknow Super Giants.
However, the team doesn’t seem to be in great shape overall, although they managed to win in the previous game without him, courtesy of an outstanding performance by Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He had a little problem during the game against Delhi that warranted caution on their part, Dravid said.
“Sanju is not fit and our medical team advises not playing him. We didn’t want to risk him traveling back and forth. So we thought it best to hold him back here with the physio to get him better as soon as we can. – said Dravid in a press conference.
Though he didn’t say exactly when, the fans are all waiting for his comeback. I can’t give a specific time for when he’ll be fit, but we’re doing everything we can. We have a game coming up on April 27th and a few others in quick succession, he mentioned.
The team has also found itself occupying the eighth position in the league with just two wins from eight matches and a net run rate of -0.63. Rajasthan stands a good chance of winning the match on Thursday, having been visiting a comparatively struggling Bengaluru on home grounds. This would prove to offer them quite a bit as far as bolstering their IPL 2025 season is concerned.
