Yashasvi Jaiswal is really in the limelight with the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. The 23-year-old from Mumbai touched the milestone of scoring his 2000th run in IPL on April 28. It is an achievement that earns him a pretty exclusive club: the third Indian player and the fifth in the world to do so while playing for Rajasthan Royals. This franchise, which has always trusted him-therefore, retaining him for Rs 18 crore before IPL 2025 auction-has started paying dividends.
On Monday, Jaiswal only needed 37 runs to touch the 2000-run mark in the match played between Roylas and Gujarat Titans. Jaiswal gave it a classic moment when he hit a four off Prasidh Krishna, the second ball of the eighth over. Notably, he reached this landmark in just his 62nd inning in the 63 matches he has played. That makes him the fifth fastest to score 2000 in IPL history, quite a feat for one so young.

In the battle against Gujarat, Jaiswal was the one who opened the innings alongside another 14-year-old prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi. They scored 166 runs without losing a wicket and made a very impressive mark in batting. Jaiswal topped the charts with an unbeaten 70 from just 40 balls, including nine fours and two sixes. The young Suryavanshi, on the other hand, stole the show early on by smashing his way into a century with 101 runs from 38 balls.
This made him the youngest to score a hundred in the history of IPL. He got past the hundred mark in just 35 balls and also broke the record for the fastest century by an Indian in the IPL held by Yusuf Pathan. The crowd at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur was electrified by his innings of seven fours and a whopping eleven sixes.
Prasidh Krishna eventually trapped him out in the twelfth over during his innings. But eventually, it was royals that have sealed an easy victory over him putting him on the winning side by eight wickets, which is big positively for this season’s playoff chances. With the likes of Jaiswal and others performing how they are, it seems this tournament could be a really good one for them.
