Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogle as well as Dinesh Karthik have been announced for India in the elite panel listed for commentators for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. IPL is over now he will join ICC tournament as a commentator, earlier he was also considered a commentator in international and ICC tournaments.
Dinesh Karthik has been playing in the IPL for 17 years, out of which he has played for 6 franchises. His first IPL debut was with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), followed by a few years with Punjab, a few years with Mumbai Indians, many years with Kolkata and the last few years played for RCB. Sometimes in the top order and sometimes for the sake of the team, the finisher has adapted himself to all roles. He was the team captain for Kolkata Knight Riders and took the team to the IPL final. Has played well as a finisher for RCB this year, looks like he can still beat many juniors in terms of batting and wicket-keeping.

Karthik has played 257 matches so far in his IPL career, scoring 4842 runs at an average of around 22. He has 50 half-centuries. This year takes the role of great finishing. In the 2024 IPL season still 15 matches played until now he has accumulated 326 runs, average 36.22, and strike rate 187+

Dinesh Karthik said, “There will be many big tournaments. 20 countries will play, there will be 55 matches, there will be 4 groups, there will be 5 teams in each group. 2 teams from each group will go to the next round, and they will be knocked out in the super round. If they win, they will go to the semi-finals and then the finals. DK is pleased to have Karthik’s name on his list to get high-class commentators for him.
