Making history as the youngest person ever in IPL to attain 600-plus runs in a single season, Sudharsan dethroned a record held by Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans. The latter had set the record being 23 years and 257 days old. Sudharsan reached this milestone in 2025 at 23 years and 227 days, and he is now also the fastest to reach 700 runs in a season.
In a recent clash against Mumbai, Sudharsan scored 80 off 49 balls, coming very close to getting the team into Qualifier 2 but was eventually out-engineered by Hardik Pandya’s team. Gujarat had a hard time chasing their target of 229, especially after losing Gill in the first over. Sudharsan continued scoring runs until he was finally dismissed by Richard Gleeson.
Mumbai opened strong with Jonny Bairstow scoring 47 and Rohit Sharma contributing an unbeaten 80, setting the team on a good platform, and the rest of the batting lineup was just performing the roles to help Mumbai declare a total score of 228 in their innings.

Though it looked really difficult for Gujarat in the face of it, they fought back bravely. Washington Sundar returned to assist with 48 off 24, before Jasprit Bumrah cleaned him up with a snappy yorker. Mumbai ended up winning by 20 runs and will now face Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2.
