Mallika Sagar, the first woman auctioneer in ‘Indian Premier League’ history, has been entrusted to conduct the IPL 2025 Mega Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which is scheduled to take place on November 24-25, 2024. This will be the second consecutive year for her to hold such a mega event. With a registered player list of 1574 and huge stars like Rishabh Pant and Jos Buttler in the mix, it is bound to be a thrilling experience.

IPL 2025: Salary Purse INR 120 Crore

IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Venue

With the news of the IPL Auction date, the Venue for the 2025 IPL Mega Auction will take place on the overseas like the past year auction. The venue for the auction is Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Like all seasons this edition will also be played at the home grounds of teams for at least one to three matches with shifting the grounds as per the teams. IPL 2025 is likely to be played in the same home and away format like IPL 2024.

IPL Auction 2025: Details

The IPL 2025 Season auction is going to be the mega auction that will ask the teams to release their team players in the IPL Auction 2025 to create a big pool of players to choose from while bidding on the players in the IPL Mega Auction.

Currently, teams are permitted to retain up to 5 players before each mega auction, a hallmark event of cricket history that occurs every three years. The most recent mega auction took place in 2022, with the next one scheduled for 2025.

Talking about the IPL Mega auction 2025, the IPL Chairman made a statement in the month of April 2024 that goes-

“We will have the mega auction for sure, where you get to choose five players and then you have a new team. That makes it more interesting and that format will continue,” 

“Hopefully, the mega auction will be as big and as good as we have had earlier given newer talents coming in not from India and other countries. Teams like Afghanistan have also benefited as they could showcase their talent,”

Overseas, Non-Indian players: These players are part of international teams and It doesn’t matter where players fall under the category. An IPL team can only hold a maximum of eight foreign players only being allowed to field at one time.
