The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is likely to be more exciting because of the mega auction. It might change the equation and preview of every team, and the team which can do well at the auction will be confident to do well in the IPL 2024. The BCCI confirmed that the team can retain a maximum of six players (including RTM cards).
The IPL 2025 mega auction is likely to take place between November 2024 or January 2025. Hence, the first thing for all the franchises is to make sure that they retain the right players. According to the BCCI’s announcement, a team will have to retain a minimum of one or a maximum of two uncapped players. That means if a player retains four players and uses the Right To Match (RTM) cards to resign two players, to make it six retentions, it must include one uncapped player minimum.
So, who will be those uncapped players who might be retained? Remember some uncapped players from the last season like Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Dhurv Jurel, Devdutt Padikkal, and a few more have made their debuts for India, so they won’t be in the category of uncapped players any more.
